wow....so....much...to...say.....
Yeah, okay, let's see where to start. I should probably start with the semi-final CCHA Championship games. AMAZING! So Megan and I went to Detroit, Joe Louis Arena, to see the two semi-final games on Friday. The first was Miami of Ohio vs. Northern Michigan University. About half-way through the game, we got bored. So we started cheering for Miami (OH). The guy next to us kept giving us looks. The later, he asked us about it, and then laughed when we told him we were bored. He thought I had a boyfriend on the Miami team!! LOL!! So Miami won that game. Honestly, it was a very good game. Miami won the regular season championship, so there wasn't much of a chance for NMU. But oh well. Then came the game we intended to lose our voices on: Michigan State vs. University of Michigan. OMG!!! Such an awesome game. UM scored the first goal, but that's okay. Michigan State came back to score four goals, therefore beating UM!!! I was screaming sooo loudly. The guy next to us was a riot, a true, bleeding green Spartan, just like us. That was an awesome game. Leading us to Saturday. Unfortunately, I had to work, but I found the game on the radio, so that helped. I was on the edge of my seat the entire game!!!! The game was between teams No. 1 and No. 2, so of course it was a good game. But, despite a few rough points in the season, and Miami's reign in the regular season, Michigan State University took home the Mason Cup!!!!!!!!!!!! (for those of you who aren't familiar with CCHA, that means they won the Championship.) I was so excited I nearly screamed!!!! Then I kept listening to the broadcast, and found out several of our guys were placed on the the All Championship Team!!! These included the captain, Drew Miller, the amazing goalie, Jeff Lerg, and right wing, Tim Crowder. Then, as if he hasn't had an amazing year already, our freshman goalie Jeff Lerg also earned Tournament MVP, and CCHA Rookie of the Year. I would definately say that team has had one hell of a year!! GO SPARTANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, that covers Friday and Saturday. Now on to Sunday. I went to work, pumped beyond belief. I had to house manage, no big deal. Plus, one of the other women I work with was shadowing me, so I didn't feel so alone:-) Since it was the last day of the show, I didn't have to do as much after the show ended. So I went out to a movie with Hilary. I met her at the barn, she was lunging her young Thoroughbred. Then, I let her drive my car to her house. Her mom had dinner waiting, which was awesome. She's got such a great family, you'd never feel weird in that house! I love it. After dinner we went to the movie, and decided to see The Hills Have Eyes. Wow, what a disgusting movie. I thought it would be gory, but I did not expect to leave the theater with a migraine. This film was the most gory, fucked up thing I've ever seen. I never want to drive through the desert again. I'm not going to go into detail about this film, but don't waste your money on this. So not worth it.
Well, the evil migraine didn't go away until midday Monday. So needless to say, I didnt' go to class. I did get a letter from Iraq, which made me smile to no end. My pen-pal wrote on paper he found north of Baghdad, and sent some Iraqi money. I was sooo excited. He sounds like such an awesome guy. All I can do for him is pray for him, and continue to send him letters. I love knowing he's okay!!
Not much happened Tuesday, which is okay. Quiet days are good every now and then. After I ran, I rode my horse. He was so awesome, I was very proud of him. He didn't try to kill me, and he hadn't been ridden in a couple of months. So that made me happy. Wednesday was fairly calm as well. Managed to go to ISS, and met Megan for lunch. Russian and Russian Lit were good. Hilary and I decided to see another movie. This time, we saw The Libertine. In case you haven't noticed, I love Johnny Depp. This was no exception to his distinguished line of films. I would like to see it again, just to pick up on a few little things I think I missed. But overall, I was impressed with the film.
Thursday was fun. I didn't turn my alarm on, so I slept through ISS and German. Oops, oh well. So after Russian, Megan and I went to Meijer's. That was fairly uneventful. Until we got back to the dorm. Megan parked, and we unloaded the car. No big deal. Then we went to leave, and some jackass was in the process of parking a truck when he didn't have the room for it. Eventually, I asked the guy behind us to back up a foot, just so we could get out. At least he was nice about it, and backed up for us. The I went to BoarsHead. I helped Jaralinn rewrite a letter to local restaurants, met the cast of the new play, talked to everyone, and got my check. Then I came home, uploaded a new ISP, so now I don't have to deal with AOL, and I'm good to go. After all that, I decided to update my blog! So all in all, the Hills Have Eyes = horrible movie, The Libertine = awesome movie (mmmm...Johnny Depp) and last, but most certainly not least, GO SPARTAN HOCKEY!!!!!!!!!!!
